A California agricultural checkpoint has been shut down after a massive spike in traffic from the nearby town of Millersville, according to local media reports.

Farmers who have been operating for years near the busy border of Millysville and Cajon have been unable to reach their land due to the checkpoint.

In total, 1,700 cars, trucks and SUVs have been stuck in traffic at the intersection since Tuesday, according the Associated Press.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
